  • Flyph,

After reading your post it appears that you purchased an upgrade copy of Windows. Currently it appears the copy of Windows installed on your system is non-genuine. In order to use an upgrade version of Windows it would require a full installation of previous verision of Windows. Please return the existing copy of windows and seek a refund. Next do you have a custom built system or is the system a commercially built? Should the system be commerically built then I would recommend for you to contact the manfacturer's Tech support and explain your problem.  Next you will want to inquire on the cost for a recovery media disc?  Hopefully this will provide you with further assistance.

    Thank you

  • I reset, booted from disc, got as far as it would let me then it said it couldnt read the disc. Either it was a fake disc (impossible) or dirty. i cleaned it and replaced it. Tried again. No joy. I only got one disc with the XP Home box so im confused when the site says i need a "qualifing CD" that isnt the main one.
