Unsupported operating systems RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I establish a remote connection to my server, I see two of my clients, one running Windows XP and the other, Windows 7, but the server says the OS's are not supported. Can someone please explain this?

  • "Not supported" in this case means that you can't connect to them via the remote desktop gateway built into Windows Home Server. Most likely this is because they're running home versions of their respective operating systems, which don't allow incoming RDP connections. This is something the HSBS team have no control over; the desktop group makes decisions about what features are supported in what desktop OSes, and the HSBS team can't override that.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
