Ok done what you said I typed SLUI 3 put my product key in once again and it comes up saying - The product key you have entered will not work with this edition of Windows Vista.

You must either run Windows Vista Setup or enter a Windows Vista Business product key

    What the hell :/

Are you sure that the COA sticker says Vista Business? - the only time I know of when that message comes up is when you're entering the Key for the wrong edition of Windows  (e.g. Home Premium instead of Business)

The Product Key in use here is the Default Key, which is invalid for activation purposes - for which version and edition  of Windows is your computer licensed, according to the COA sticker on the case?
If it's for Vista Business, then you can use the Change Product Key link at the bottom of the System Properties page to change the Key to the one on the sticker - you may well have to activate by phone.

Probably - your age is irrelevant, as all they need is to establish that the PC matches the requirements (no money required<g>).
The phone number is usually a toll-free one for landlines (operator-dependent on mobiles).

    To activate by phone:-
To Activate by Phone, Click the Start button, and type:
    slui 4
in the Search box and then hit the "Enter" key.
This will bring up the Activate by Phone dialog window.
Follow the steps provided by the window.

If normal phone activation fails, redial the number, and this time do NOT respond when the ansafone asks which service you require - this should force an operator to pick up who can deal with your problem.

You shouldn't be locked out of the system? - SP2 did away with that (I thought!)
You can obviously access something, as you managed to produce the MGADiag report in Normal Mode.
Presumably you can access Internet Explorer?
if so, in the address bar, type
    C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
this should open a Command Prompt window.
    at the prompt, type
    SLUI    3
and it the Enter key - the Key Change wizard should come up, allowing you to change the Key to the one on the COA Sticker.
This should be accepted - if it gives an error message, check the characters you entered as some are easily misread.
Once that's done, try Internet Activation first
If that fails, then try phone activation, using
    SLUI   4
    from the command prompt
