unable to download e-learning module RRS feed

  • Question

  • I purchased course 2274 Managing a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment.  Generally I run it through the offline player but I have been unable to download the last section.

The error message reads "Error requesting file 'http://offline.microsoftelearning.com/ek_content/global/splash/assets/stockImages/CVS/Root'  HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found returned from remote server.

I phoned the so-called support # 800 636-7544.  I was asked whether it was a personal purchase or through a company.  When I told the agent it was through my company he quickly gave me another number to call - 866 230-0560.  This turned out to be a product sales phone number for businesses.

The agent there said she would connect me to the E-Learning support number 800 636-7544.  While I wrote it down she transferred my call and she was gone before I could tell her that's where I started.

Now I was back where I started (India if I'm any judge of accents), I repeated my problem and after asking the agent to repeat himself 3 times so I could understand his suggestion, I was floored by his response...are you ready?

He said and I quote "wait 24 hours then try again".

I commended his brilliance and told him I would never have thought of that myself.

Thanks to Microsoft I have wasted most of my day trying to get to my course material.

I am completely disgusted with the lack of proper support for E-Learning.  The phone numbers listed are blind alleys and time wasters.

Even if this problem is resolved what is Microsoft doing to correct the bigger problem-lack of any real support.

Today it gets worse - I tried to download my course material from my offline player and it still is not working.

I logged into my microsoft e-learning account online to see if I could download from there.  When I went to my course (2274)  I no longer have any access to the course material.  The links for all of the course sections are gone.  I logged out and logged in again thinking it might be a glitch.  The second attempt was the same - no access to my course material.

As for a case number, I don't have one.  If you're recall my last thread indicated that after being bounced around the system the agent told me to try again today and did not open a case.

    Hello-

I'll attempt to reachout to you today to see if we can help you.

  • Hello-

My team does not support the offline player but I can certainly make sure you are in touch with the right support team to address your issue.

Let me do some follow-up and I can get back to you.  In the meantime, if you were given any call reference numbers from contacting support, please let me know of them.

    Thanks-
