InOrder for you to send Email from the CRM WEB Client, you need CRM E-Mail Router to be installed.
The other way around is, you can install CRM outlook client for sending & receiving Email - this doesn't need CRM Email Router to be installed.
A few articles for your reference,

Hope this will help you

Hi Irshad,
You can try this as well.
1. Go to the server where the e-mail router is installed.
2. Go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM Email\Service
3. Edit the file Microsoft.Crm.EmailAgent.xml with Notepad
4. Find the element SchedulingPeriod
5. Change the value (most likely currently 1000) to 30
6. Restart the Microsoft CRM Email Router serviceRegards

Yes it should have been a requirement on install. if the email router is setup correctly emails should be sent automatically. please double check your outgoing profile in your email router.
