    1) How can I get my server to show in the Network Map of Windows 7 ?

    2) How can get Home Server to join HomeGroup ?

    1) How can I get my server to show in the Network Map of Windows 7 ?

    You need to install the Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) responder on your server and there is no supported way of doing that.  However, if you want to go into unsupported territory, apparently it can be done (or at least it used to work, I don't know if it does any more or not).  See Get WHS to show up in Vista's Network Map for details.

    2) How can get Home Server to join HomeGroup ?
    You can't.  HomeGroup is specific to Windows 7.

    Link Layer Topology Discovery is supported on Windows 7 (at least on Windows 7 Ultimate it is)
    By default the LLTP service is not started however.

    To strat the service from the start menu type "services" + <enter>
    Then find the "Link-Layer Topology Discovery Mapper" and set the stat type to "Automatic".

    Yes, but he wanted his server to show up in the network map, which means he needs to install the LLTD responder on the server, which is unsupported.  :)
