Asterisk and OCS integration RRS feed

  • Has anyone been able to successfully integrate the an Asterisk PBX with OCS 2007 and Exchange UM? I know there are some "hacks" to get LCS 2005 to work with Asterisk and I was wondering if it was possible with OCS. We currently have an asterisk PBX system deployed here and want to be able to take advantage of the features of OCS and UM.

    I'm sure I'm not the only one that is looking to integrated these products, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    (Also, I'm somewhat a newbie in the world of VOIP so any book suggestions that may help me learn and figure this out on my own would be greatly appreciated as well)

  • At a fairly simply level you need a SIP gateway between Asterisk and Exchange.
    Asterisk uses UDP to send SIP were as Exchange uses TCP.

    As such you need a gateway that is capable of translating from UDP to TCP.
