  • I think it is rather pathetic that when I turn off Automatic Updates as part of my original Operating System installation, that upon installing Windows Live OneCare it turns them back on without my explicit permission.

    OneCare installs with the default settings for automatically updating the important updates for Windows.

    You can also go to the Windows Update website to hide updates as well.

    hi Lori,

     

    It now tells me about important updates which I think is rather excellent, except it doesn't seem to know what I just did even if I've restarted the machine.

  • I believe you are referring to the alert that was pushed to all OneCare users last week following the release of the critical Windows patch. The alert displays no matter if you updated or not and will expire after a period of time.
