Cannot Validate My Mother's Valid XP Home RRS feed

  • Question

  • My mothers 4 year old HP XP home computer cannot be validated.  It is using the widows installed by HP.  I just don't understand the problem.  She has not updated it since 2002, and as such, not even SP1 is installed.  I have updated the Windows update software.  The only thing we are told is that there is an unknown error.

Here is a log from the program to check this:

  • Please go to www.microsoft.com/genuine  and click Validate - that should resync the WGA Validation files. Afterwards, please click start, then run, then type in "WGAtray.exe /b" and then reboot. That should fix it!
