  • Re: "Update" KB2267602

I've tried COUNTLESS TIMES to "Hide" it but it refuses to be hidden? There HAS to be a way to stop this invasion of privacy!
What is this, an advertisement for LINUX operating systems???

I DON'T WANT IT, I DON'T LIKE IT AND IT'S NOT USER-FRIENDLY AT ALL!! In fact it makes the GOD AWFUL "metro" interface of windows 8 look like the "good old days!"

  • Totally the wrong forum for that question but this is what I did:

Use Task Manager to Kill the GWX Process

    Rename C:\windows\system32\GWX folder

This gets rid of the TaskBar notification Icon but the update still appears on the shutdown button.

To get rid of this, hide the update in Windows Update – Reboot

I do not agree with you regarding W10 versus W8 - W10 is closwer to W7 and that's a good thing!!
