Use of Microsoft Genuine products

Question
-
Yesterday I went to my friend's hose, he showed me the operating system of his computer. It was Windows 7 Ultimate. However, it was a pirated one but he had 'cracked' it using a software called Windows Loader. Now his OS runs as good as a genuine one with applications like MSE running smoothly.I have bought my genuine copy of Windows 7 Professional, but it seems there was no need of it. Is there actually worth buying a genuine copy when it can be made genuine using cracks.

it will be detected sooner or later. he will then have to purchase and install genuine windows and all his programs. it is just a matter of time.
we see hundreds of these in the forums. simply not worth it.

windows uses several means to detect non genuine installs.
it will be most likely be detected although if you never use windows updates you could escape. that leaves your system wide open to all kinds of malware.

That's good but he has been using the copy for 2 yrs. Btw, can you tell me how does MS detect whether the software is genuine or cracked?
