  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm very new to Project Server 2010 and I am trying to build an Enterprise Resource Pool. So I have a few questions on how to build this and how to manage resources when you have a master project plan with multiple projects in the master project plan. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can synchronize Project Server with the Active directory groups to bring your organization resources to the system.

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc197402%28office.12%29.aspx

You can also add users manually to the system:

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc197430.aspx

Also see this to configure your resource pool:

    http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/epm/archive/2010/09/30/resource-constraint-analysis-under-the-hood-configuring-the-resource-pool.aspx

All the uers set also as "resource" can be assigned on the project(s), and further these project can be inserted in the master project.

See the following post for more details about the master project:

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/project-help/plans-within-plans-using-master-projects-and-subprojects-HA001021176.aspx

    Hope this helps.
