HDD Serial numbers reported incorrectly RRS feed

  • Question

  • My test server currently consists of 4x2TB drives.
I needed to remove one, but since they're all the same I had to go by the serial number.

I removed one, but the serial number it listed in the console was incorrect.
It shows every two characters reversed.
Dashboard listed the serial number as W-DMWZA02107421
    Actual serial number is WD-WMAZ20014712

Has anyone else noticed this or could it be something specific to my system?

Test system is running on an Intel Q45 motherboard.
The Intel storage manager confirms that the other drives also report incorrectly in the Vail Dashboard.
