Placement of a shortcut on the desktop RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a powershell script that creates a folder on the desktop and places some shortcuts in it. Invariably the shortcut gets placed in the very upper left of the screen, in the first location. Is there any way to tell Windows where to place the shortcut? My desktop Icons are set to Auto arrange and Align to Grid, and Show Desktop Icons. Not Sorted.

I would have thought the folder shortcut would be the last one, with the icons starting in the upper left corner going down, moving right one row going down, etc.

  • The desktop settings do not apply to folders on the desktop.

You can set the folder view from the "View" menu of the folder.
