Outlook 2010 with CRM 2011 (5.0.9688.590) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm using Microsoft Office 2010 installed with Microsoft CRM 2011 (5.0.9688.590) installed on the notebook. My machine has Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit with all updates installed, Office 2010 64bit with all updates installed and the CRM was installed using the site http://crm.dynamics.com the Install button. However, when I go into Outlook, select a message and click on control, the error message:

Only items in the default Microsoft Outlook store can be promoted in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

    I am NOT using Exchange.

  • Do you have more than one account hooked up to Outlook.  It is saying only the main account in outlook can be used for CRM.  If you are using gmail or something similiar you will need to use pop3 I believe and not IMAP also.

  • Hi Jamie,

Thanks for the quick response. Well, yes I have more than one account configured in my Outlook, but all are POP. We are two companies and both accounts are set to pop.mydomain.com.br. There are more people in the company who have this same problem.

What can I do to solve this problem?

    Thanks

  • You will only be able to use your default box unfortunately.  You will have to pick one.

  • Complicated. I have 2 accounts of 2 differents companies and I can't track both in 2 differents CRM's instances?

Whats the solution? 2 outlook profiles and switching all the time between them? :-(

  • The email router only supports pop3 and it has to be the default account also in outlook.  You can only track emails from one account in outook.
