CRM 2011 Outlook Client Uninstall/Reinstall Failed

Question
-
My CRM 2011 Outlook Client which was installed properly earlier corrupted and I was not able to open my CRM folders in Outlook 2010. I tried to uninstall the client and it failed to uninstall using Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel. I then used a utlity known as Revo Uninstaller to uninstall the client and also clean up the registry entries. Now I am unable to reinstall the client as each time I start the installation procedure, it pops up a window asking me to either Repair or Uninstall and any option I choose will end up as failed. I am at my wits end as to how to solve this issue. Can someone please offer some help? The setup log file is appended below:

Check the registry entry . If anything in the window registry try to delete it and install it again.
Take a back of the registry before deleting anything.
I hope this helps.

Have a look at this post for detailed instructions on how to manually remove the Outlook Client. I think this was written for 4.0 and possibly a different OS than the one you have, but you should be able to find the right files in your system. You're going to need to remove all references to the CRM Outlook Client.

Hi Amreek, I have cleaned out the registry with the Revo Uninstaller utility and it is still a no go. Any other areas that I need to look into? Thanks.Tuesday, August 23, 2011 6:57 AM

Hi Donna, I have done exactly that and it is still a no go situation. I have also repaired Windows Live Signin as I understand that CRM Online still uses Live IDs for authentication. I have also repaired Office 2010 and whatever that I can think of to try my best to completely remove the CRM Outlook Client.Tuesday, August 23, 2011 7:00 AM

Hi Raymond,
If you have followed every step in the post on how to remove the CRM Outlook Client and you are certain there is no remaining element, and since you did not have a successful uninstall, I suspect you are going to have to roll the machine back to a time before the CRM Outlook Client was installed and try again. Given what has occurred, I don't see any other option at this time.
