C Drive has almost no free space RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been reading about this and can't quite figure this out. I have an Acer H340. The sys partition is 20gigs on a 1TB drive. I have another 5 TB's of drives. Drive duplication is not turned on for any shares, I do not back up computers on my net and shadowcopy is off. So why do I only have 300MB of free space on C:? Is there a way to free up space. I have deleted any log files ( no large one's anyways). I have had problems when backing up and the 340MB's has gone to 0! Something strange is going on, but otherwise the WHS is working really well. Any hints would be appreciated. This seems to be a common issue.

  • I would use WinDirStat to see where your storage is being used. The OS itself should take about 10 GB, so something else is on that disk
