invalid product key

Question
-
I am using microsoft vista 2007 and I put in the product key that was on the COA and it shows that it is invalid. I looked at the other comments that have been posted, but I do not find a solution. I downloaded the diagnostic tool and the product key that showed on there was different than the one on my computer. The diagnosis is below:

It appears that hhorsley has already changed his key over to the one on his COA sticker... I believe the issue is that he/she is unable to Activate. Is that correct hhorsley?
If so, please note that activating Vista that has a COA key must be done over the phone. you will receive an error if you try to activate that kind of key over the internet.
To Activae by Phone:
Click the Start button, and type in "slui.exe 4" in the search field and then press the "Enter" key. This will bring up the Activate by Phone dialog window. Follow the steps provided by the window. The phone activation process should only take about 6 minutes.
NOTE: The key to this process is that you need to talk to a Live Activation Rep! When you first call, you will be interacting with an Automated Voice, either select the option to talk to a Live Rep or if there is no option, do not enter any numbers. This should force the automated voice to tansfer you to a Live Rep.
Thank you,

Your Window Vista license is indeed valid and genuine. If you are actually referring to Microsoft Office, please read the following:
The product key affixed to your computer is for Windows Vista (the operating system) and not for Microsoft Office. Please review the following:

There is no need to try and change the current product key to the one affixed to your computer. Your computer manufacturer used a special product key when the factory installed Windows Vista from an image to your computer. The product key noted on the COA affixed to your computer signifies that your installed OEM version of Windows Vista is genuine.Thursday, February 7, 2008 3:55 PMModerator
