Cancellation of Windows Live One-Care RRS feed

  • Question

  • Please look at the following trail... I have not been using Windows Live One-Care for over year, since I had had so many problem with it, so I eventually un-installed it and have been running aVast since then...

Recently I got an email saying my credit card would be debited... so I went online to see why and found that I was still registered even though I had cancelled it way back then... now when I try to delete the credit card details I can't and it tells me to phone US telephone support (I live in South Africa and don't have access to your toll free numbers... if your website at least could give me a international landline I could call to get this matter resolved I would greatly appreciate it....

The response I got from MS support leads me to believe they don't understand what I am saying...It's simple, I have not been using OneCare, and simply would like a means to ensure that I don't get charge for something I don't use and gave me so many problems....

    Please could somebody help?

Subject : Cancellation of Windows Live One-Care

    Hi

I just recently got a notice stating that my credit card was going to be debited for the OneCare subscription.

Over a year ago, I had asked for the subscription to be cancelled and assumed this had been done....

I then went online today, and see that the subscription is there even though I have not been using the software. Also I live in South Africa and I cannot call the US 1-800 numbers, so I don't have any other way to cancel this subscription.

    Could you please assist?

    Kind Regards

    JP

  • It sounds like they understand the issue, but they are foisting you back into the support loop that you have already used, unfortunately.

You do need to contact Billing support, but the person who got your support request didn't engage the right support area and sent you back to the FAQ here on how to open a support log.

Since you are also not in the US (or a country where OneCare can be purchased), contacting support will only be via email.

However, send me an email at sboots@mvps.org with a subject line including "OneCare" (to get past my spam filtering) and in the message body, tell me what country you are in, your forum nickname, and paste a link to the post to which you are replying. I am not online 24x7, so you may be waiting for a reply, but I'll do my best to hook you up with support.
