Backup vista 32 bits restored in a vista 64 bits RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all,
My computer is running vista ultimate 32 bits and backup are made through onecare.
As I am going to install the vista 64 bits version, will i be able to restore my 32bits backup directly or do I have to manually backup my data before to migrate ?

    Thank you for your help.

  • You should be able to restore from your One Care backups. If you have adequate storage space on your external drive I would also copy and paste all of your important data should you have any issues with restoring your backups. I did a reinstall of Vista last week and my backup program ( not One Care ) was not cooperating so I was glad to have my data in a format where I could just drag and drop my files.
