Pointing the MS CRM Server to a different Email Router RRS feed

  • Hello All..

    I am using MS CRM 4.0. Currently we are having the CRM Server pointing to an Email Router "ER_A". We would like to point the CRM server to a new email router "ER_B". Both the email routers are pointing to the same crm server. Now, we need to update the CRM server to point to "ER_B".

    1. Adding the email router server name in "PrivUserGroup" works out?

    2. Do we need to remove the existing server name from "PrivUserGroup"? 

    3. We are working on the production environment so, if the new email router doesn't work properly then by adding the existing email router server in the group brings everything in a normal way?

    Any suggestions will be highly appreciable.

  • I suggest you add the new email router server name to PrivUserGroup, and leave the existing server name in the group to start with. This will make it easier to switch back to the existing email router if you have a problem.

    Note that you need to restart a server in order to ensure that it will recognise that is now a member of the PrivUserGroup

  • If I keep both the servers in PrivUserGroup then, do we face any issue like duplicate emails when an email is processed by both the routers?
