Live One Care-OEM not working HELP! RRS feed

  • Question

Ok, Bought a OEM version of Live One Care today, installed it, set up a live.com account and had it registered with my One Care, and it was a success, but it says I only have 15 days left on my TRIAL version, contacted support, no help... contacted again and did a remote assistance, couldnt figure it out, and they said they were handing it to their Escalation team, and would contact me.... Yeah right, Microsoft contact me, HAHA. I believe they are having Server issues but wasn't given the full story.  Can anyone out there please help me with this.  Oh, wait a minute now it says that my status is "at risk" and I need to finish the setup, but I have uninstalled and reinstalled 2 times, and still the same answer. But I did get an email saying that my subscription was sucessfully activated and that I had one year from today.  I activated around 9:30 this morning and got the email at 3:00 P.m. Any help would be great!

  • If you haven't already done so uninstall any other antivirus, antispyware, and third party firewalls. If Norton or McAfee was previously installed go to the vendor website and run the uninstaller.

Uninstall One Care. Run the One Care install cleanup tool - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=828910&SiteID=2

Install the One Care trial - http://onecare.live.com/standard/en-us/default.htm but do not activate it for 24 hours ( it usually takes 24-48 hours for your subscription status to update ). If you encounter the "Can't complete the installation message again see this post - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1516793&SiteID=2

To activate the trial open One Care, select"Subscribe" and when asked for a Live ID enter the Live ID and password used to set up your account. Your subscription status will be recognized and One Care will activate.

After I get to the ID login screen I then go to the "Market area" screen where it says :English $US Dollar, I click that And it then says Could not finif\sh for one or more reasons: Already have installed on this PC, Not Compatible, or Not available in your area. I will get either my money back or It working I gurantee you that.

  • I'm not sure why you are sent to that screen and I have no other ideas so I can only suggest you wait to hear back from support.
