Windows 7 Professional 64 bit suddenly becomes non genuine following update and many years use RRS feed

  • Following updates on 15/11/2017 upon restart my PC came up with a black screen and showed

    Build7601

    This copy of Windows is not genuine

    I have tried the route provided by activate your software to no avail.

    Can someone help with a way forward

    What this means is you have a Volume License version of Windows 7 Professional installed that was once licensed to a specific business entity.

    This Volume License is no longer valid.  You'll need to purchase a genuine edition of Microsoft Windows and perform a "clean install".
