CRM 2011 Sending Emails

Question
-
CRM 2011 OnPremise -
I can't get emails to send through WFs nor creating one directly in the Activity entity in CRM web. I tested directly sending an email in the Outlook client using the CRM toolbar in Outlook and the email successfully went through. I could see the historical email in crm web as completed item as well.
I checked the box in the Outlook settings for CRM to allow CRM to send emails. The settings in Admin, system settings, nothing jumped out to me as a fix. The user level settings use the CRM outlook.
Any ideas why the email would not send and just remains at an Activity status of "Pending Send"?
Thank you

Hi Torry,
you seem to have done everything correct. Could you also confirm if you have installed outlook client for CRM on the machine where outlook is installed?.
ideally you should have a crm menu item in your outlook. The emails are sent when you synchronize or or when you restart outlook or once in 15 minutes. Based on the server/outlook settings

also please check permissions for the workflow owner and the owner of email.
lack of permissions can cause this behaviour. Can you enable trace and see if it is a permission issue?

Hi Jithesh -
Yes the the CRM client is installed on the same machine. I do see all the proper menu items. The email throughWF was working as of a few months ago.
I'm at a loss now. In the past I had a similiar issue, but that was due to 5000+ jobs waiting. Once I cleared those the WF work properly sending my emails .
Thank you for your input
