  • I don't think your browser is being hijacked but it is being redirected to ad sites. Open Internet Explorer>Tools>Delete Browsing History. Select delete all cookies and select delete temporary internet files. Then select Tools>Pop Up Blocker>Pop Up Blocker Settings, be sure pop up blocker is enabled, remove msn.com from the list of sites on which pop  ups are allowed.

  • Jim-

Thanks for the help, but still have the same problem after following your steps.  Anytime I  stay on MSN site for long it still goes over to these sites. http://rad.msn.com/ADSAdClient31.dll%3FGetAd%3FPG or http://view.atdmt.com/iview/msnnkhac001300x250Xsptbb400151msn/direct%3Bwi.300%3Bh

I do not have any sites allowed in Popup Blocker and it still happens.  i think I have something on the machine that is trying to grab my browser.  i have run McAfee, OneCare, and Spy Sweeper but not luck in find anything.

    Any other help?

    Thanks-

    Eric

  • Hello Eric, although it seems like your browser is being hijacked you are really being served ads from msn.com. I spend much time daily on msn.com and I am very familiar with the cookies being sent your way. Try this: open IE>Tools>Privacy>Advanced. Check "Override automatic cookie handling", Under "First Party Cookies" select "Accept", under "Third Party Cookies" select "Block", check the box that says "Always allow session cookies". Delete your cookies and temp internet files again and you should be able to browse without annoyance.

    Any other ideas?

    Really appreciate it!!

  • Maybe let's try the easy way. Download and install Spywareblaster - http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

It will block most ad cookies and certain active x controls which could be causing your issue.
