MapPoint Could not load type 'MapPoint.IMappointCtrl' RRS feed

  • Question

  • As per title really.

I have (inherited) an application that uses map point.
When I try to run the app in VS2010 I get the error Could not load type 'MapPoint.IMappointCtrl' from assembly 'Interop.MapPoint, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'.

I have tried uninstalling/re-installing mappoint at versions 2006,2011 & 2013 but all the same.
I have remove the references from the project and re-added them with no success.

If I try to edit the form in the IDE I get the following errors displayed:

    Could not find type
'AxMapPoint.AxMappointControl'. Please make sure that the assembly that contains
this type is referenced. If this type is a part of your development project,
make sure that the project has been successfully built using settings for your
    current platform or Any CPU.

    The variable 'AxMappointControl1'

both interop.mappoint and axinterop.mappoint are added as references.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

  • Check the references - are they valid - ie. point to real COM libraries, and not 'dead' references that no longer connect?

  • Thanks for taking the time to reply Richard.
They are the latest versions, I have copied them to the bin folder and removed & re-added the references.
It almost looks like a control has been removed from the latest version!
