IE9 Problems in Vista RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was updating from IE8 to IE(, which went fine, then I had to reinstall IE9 after it crashed on me. When I tried to do the "Update" download, it di not finish the task. I have tried several times to re-downlad it again, but every time I get an Error Message: "IE9 Cannot finish download as a newer version exists on the Computer." I would like to just get to ten, but every time I go to the download page, It directs me back to IE9 as a result of Vista. I assume from this that IE10 isn't compatible with Vista, so how do I basically "Uninstall IE9", and then "Reinstall" it? Tried the directions from Microsaft, but the Search on the Start menu cannot find it, neither can "View Updates". In the meantime, IE9 opens and closes at will, but when I try to use it, I get blank pages on half of the urls I visit regularly. I am not tech challenged, but then, I am not exactly a pro either. What can I do to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
