problem connecting with mac

Question

Have updated to the most recent Mac version when it was distributed. It seemed to work fine for a week or so - solved the crashing problem. However, for the last several days, Live Mesh has not made a valid connection. The program appears to start; however, the icon stays light and the dropdown menu shows "sign in" but in gray. Other times it appears to be connected, but the meshed files are not connected. Internet connection is fine otherwise. I have deleted the application, downloaded it and reloaded - to same effect. Log shows Live Mesh attempting to delete a file that it can't find. It says to send the log to microsoft, but I can't find a way to do that. Can anyone offer some help?Thursday, January 29, 2009 2:49 AM

Hi,
It certainly seems as though you've run into a bug - will be interesting to track the reason for it!\
To submit a bug, including your logs, follow the instructions on the sticky from the front page: "Sticky: How to Submit Bugs and Live Mesh Logs". Once submitted post a link to your bug here so that others can add to it or track the cause.
Cheers,
Oren

I believe that, in chasing the crash issue in the prior version, I got versions scrambled somehow. I thought I had removed Live Mesh from the startup list so that it would only start manually. However, subsequent to the above posting, I looked at the startup list and found an entry for "Live Mesh 11-09," which remains a mystery. I deleted that. Restarted the Mac. Dragged my current Live Mesh to the startup list. So far it seems to be working perfectly. I would guess that the Mac was trying to start a version no longer on the computer and setting something up that interferred with starting the current Live Mesh. Interesting that it would give no indication of having a problem, though.Monday, February 2, 2009 3:57 PM

Interesting indeed! Thanks for posting a follow up - I'm sure the Mac devs will be interested in chasing up the specifics of this case, in order to ensure at least a clearer message when a conflict like this occurs.
Cheers,
