Win2003 version or WHS 2008--how do I tell? RRS feed

  • Question

  • How can I tell if I have the Win2003 version of WHS or Windows Home Server 2008 (which is what I ordered)?  There is no indication on either the disks or the paperwork.  The MS part no. is X13-61333.

There is no "Windows Home Server 2008".  There is only Windows Home Server.  Any chance you meant Windows Small Business Server 2008?  Does it say anything on the CD/DVD?

  • Where did you order "Windows Home Server 2008"?
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

  • You are correct.  I just re-read the review I saw in Maximum PC.  Will Smith reviewed Windows Server 2008, not Windows Home Server 2008.  Mea culpa.

Will Smith?  Man, he sure gets around.  First he starts out by singing with DJ Jazzy Jeff, moves on to TV shows like the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, then stars in hit movies such as Independence Day and Hancock, and now he's reviewing operating systems!!!  :)
