    hi,

    i have a small doubt while creating a relationship. As we have in regarding field in phonecall activity which is a lookup field. we can select the value to the lookup from either accounts,leads,opportunity etc. similarly i have a custom entity where i want the facility to select value into lookup field either from accounts,leads,opportunity, or custom entity. how can i do it.

    Hi.

    Without coding - there are no way out.

    You can create two relations between your emp details entity and nav department and ax department. Check this url - this will help you create emulation of regarding field.

    unfortunately if you are not one of those enities mentioned you will not by default select custom enties without doing some custom development.

    The easiest way will be is to from your custome entity create a relation ship to contacts if you store contact info and then use that relationship to select the associated contact.

    what i mean is when we create a custom entity a N:1 relationship is created with the phonecall entity with lookup field named regarding. for every custom entity a relation is created. if we click on the lookup field in phonecall activity we will have the option of selecting values from either system or custom entities which have the relationship to phonecall entity.

    similarly i  have a custom entity named emp details and i have two more custom entities named nav department and ax department. i want a lookup field on emp details entity where i can select value from either nav department or ax department in the same lookup field. how can i do this.
