Having Problems Reactivating Windows xp Home Edition RRS feed

  • Ive had this computer for like 3 years now (or less),and i never had this problem... cause its the 1st time it ever happend to me..
    and i tryed calling customer service like more than 4 times now.... and the ID that the activation
    manager gives me says its invalid....
    And when it puts me to a representetive he/she tells me its invalid too and tells me to wait and
    clicks on me,that is getting me sooo pissed...
    and i need the computer for school work... Ima give the last 3 product key *****-*****-67ygt-wy4d4-6r2ym
    plz if you have anything that can help me post it up..

    Your situation seems to be that you are attempting to install XP Pro onto an Acer computer using a Dell OS Reinstallation CD and Product Key.

    This is not going to work, and is a violation of the End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) for OEM licenses for Windows XP.

    Additionally, this is being reported by the mgadiag utility:
    OGA Data-->

    Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 - 114 Blocked VLK 2
    Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 - 114 Blocked VLK 2

    The above means that the installation of Office 2003 Pro on the computer is a nongenuine installation due to the unauthorized use of a Volume Licensing edition and product key for Office 2003.

    Next, look on the computer itself, in the documentation you received with the computer, or with your retail purchase of Windows to see if you have a Certificate of Authenticity (CoA).  If you have one, tell us about the CoA.  Tell us:

    1.  What edition of Windows XP is it for, Home, Pro, or Media Center, or another version of Windows?

    2.  Does it read "OEM Software" or "OEM Product" in black lettering?

    3.  Or, does it have the computer manufacturer's name in black lettering?  We would expect to see "Acer" on the CoA.

    4.  DO NOT post the full Product Key that may be printed on the CoA.

Please follow the steps outlined below as it could either resolve your issue or, if need be, provide us with additional information to determine the cause of this issue.
                                                          

    Please refer to the link below and run the MGA Diagnostics tool:

    You will be prompted to either “Run” or “Save” the tool. Choose to “Run” the tool and follow the on-screen prompts. You will receive an “Internet Explorer-Security Warning” dialog box for the “Windows Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool”; you must choose to “Run” this tool when prompted.

     

    Once you are presented with the Diagnostics tool choose “Continue” to run the diagnostic report. If the “RESOLVE” button is available after running the diagnostics, please click “RESOLVE” to allow the diagnostic tool to attempt a repair.

     

    1.      After running the MGA Diagnostic tool, click on the “Windows” tab and then click on “Copy”.

    2.      Please return to this post and “Paste” the results here for additional review.
