Question
-
Hi to all,
When I was searching in few site about the windows vista product key, i've seen some product key that was genuine when i tested it on my computer and it was activated. And i used MGADIAG to diagnose it and it said genuine, so that how can we assured that we are protected in piracy if the genuine OEM SLP key is leaked over the internet. Thank you very much and I hope you listened to my question.
Respecfully yours,

Hello Thunder19,
I'm unsure what your question is, but I can asure you that it does not matter if an OEM SLP key is leaked to the internet. Here is why:
Computers, that are built by large manufactures, that come with Vista Pre-Installed, come with two (2) Product Keys:
1) OEM SLP: This key comes pre-installed in Vista, when it comes from the Factory. All OEM SLP keys are the Same for each computer manufacturer. This key is geared to work with the special instructions found only on that Manufacturer's computer hardware. So when Vista was installed using the OEM SLP key (at the factory) Vista looks at the motherboard and sees the special instructions and Self-Activates. (that's why you did not need to Activate your computer after you brought it home).
2) COA SLP: This is the Product key that you see on the sticker on the side (or bottom) of your computer. It is unique to that computer. It is a valid product key, but should only be used in limited situations. The key must be manually activated, and must be Activate by Phone, only.
So, as you can see, if someone trys to use an OEM SLP key and their computer's motherboard doesn't have the special instructions, the OEM SLP key will not self-activate and OEM SLP keys can not be activated over the internet or by phone.
In other words, the OEM SLP key is worthless to anyone that doesn't have a computer from the same Manufacturer and if they had a computer from the same manufacturer, then they would already have the same OEM SLP key, anyways.
If this didn't answer your question or if I misunderstood, please post a more detailed description of the problem or question.
Thank you,
