    I am running AVG FREE on my computer, should I have my windows defender ON or OFF?

    AVG free has spyware /malware included in it so to avoid conflicts you can shut off defender, bit IMHO if i was you i would get rid of avg and install mse.

    So as to not give the wrong impression, I'm sure the previous poster intended to say AntiSpyware / AntiMalware.  AVG FREE is certainly not an infected application.
