Call Work option greyed out - can't make any direct telephone calls RRS feed

  • Question

  •

When I right click on a contact and choose Call the Work choice is greyed out. Only Communicator Call is enabled. I also can't make a direct call by typing the phone number into the search field, even with the leading 1 for a country code of USA. How do I enable this? Do I need a registry setting and/or something else enabled? Thanks.

  • FYI: From searches on the internet, I added this to the registry: added TelephonyMode and set it to 3 then logged off and back in again.

Now Call Work is enabled, it tries to call, then beeps, and the complete error details information is here:

  • Austin,

The "work phone" number is pulled from AD.  As far as dialing, have you tried to use the enterprise route helper from the OCS resource kit to check your routes/gateways?  You may also need to do some manipulation.  More technical detail could help if you have it.

    Thanks!
