Workflow across multiple entities RRS feed

  • Hello, I am trying to set up a workflow using attributes on both the phone call and appointment entities.  For instance, if a custom field on a phone call is set to "YES", then i need to reference an appointment that was also made for this same contact and set a workflow to create a task based on the date/time of the appointment.  is something like this possible?  thanks

  • My guess this won't be possible. Because you don't gave a link between the record that triggered the workflow and the appointment. It could be possible if you create a relationship between them. You can use the value of the lookup on that phone call.But i don't recommend that. But it is a possible solution.

    You can write a custom workflow activity using .NET to grab the related appointment frm the phone call record. Check the CRM SDK for some examples and ask in the CRM Development forum for any specifics.
