  • Question

  • Hi,

After a year of working without any issue, I have suddenly started getting a constant pop-up appear with the message "This computer is not running genuine windows".  Code )x8004fe21.

I searched the web and have tried some of the more obvious solutions.  Ran a chkdsk (clean), re-activated by phone but still get the message.

I ran a MGADiag report and got this...

Thanks for the comment.  I bought the PC off someone else. so I don't know where the OS came from.

I just tried updating the Intel drivers, as suggested in other instances of this happening, and that seems to have solved the issue.  I do appreciate the imput though.

  • The installed Key is an OEM_COA_SLP Key

Such Keys are ONLY valid when the machine was originally shipped with the related OS.

Your machine shipped with Windows Vista.

From where did you acquire this Product Key?

Having said all that, there is no other problem with the report - the system shows as being properly activated, and validated OK on 17th November.

Are you still seeing a non-genuine notification?

No - I do not work for Microsoft, or any of its contractors.
