MCSA 2003 To Server 2008 Qualification Confusion RRS feed

  • Question

  • HI,

I am slightly confused. I have my MCSA 2003 qualification and I am wanting to upgrade to a 2008 qualification.

As from a post on these forums http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/CertGeneral/thread/04666c7e-f05a-42bf-8a6d-ac97b0625691 and my own research I need to pass 2 exams the 70-648 and the 70-646. The confusion is with the dates. Do I need to pass both of these exams before July 31, 2013 or do I just need to pass the 70-648 exam before July 31, 2013 as this is the the exam that is being retired. Then can I pass the 70-646 to gain the MCSA 2008 after 31 July 2013. The information is very unclear on Microsofts website. If I pass both before 31 July 2013 I get both MCITP Server Administrator 2008 and MCSA Server 2008. If I pass only the 70-648 exam before 31 July 2013 and then pass the 70-646 after 31 July 2013 I will only get the MSCA Server 2008. Is this correct? I want to make sure I am 100% correct so i don't waste my time studying for a qualification I can't get if i don't have the time to do both exams before 31 July 2013.

    Thanks

    David
