Add ViewID and ProjectID to URL RRS feed

  • Question

  • In Project 2010, is there a way to add ProjectID and ViewID to a URL?  What is the syntax and where do you get the IDs?  I was able to do this in Project 2007.

  • Sort of - you can definitely add the view type, i.e. Project Details and
    the ProjUID.

Navigate to a project within the Project Center, and you'll see the appropriate
    URL.

  • Yes, that works for me also.  I am looking for the same capability within the Project Center, not a specific project.  My goal is to provide an executive with a link to a project center view that has been filtered and grouped for their consumption.

  • I might recommend taking a look at SharePoint external lists for that purpose
(or SSRS).  They're quite easy to make, and allow you to easily create any
    views you want.

  • Andrew, I went to the link in your previous post and I am not seeing how to access the page shown in your first screen shot.  How do you get that?  I am an admin on our implementation.  I think this might resolve my issue.

  • 1) Create an External Content Type: http://azlav.umtblog.com/2011/03/25/using-external-content-types-with-project-server-2010/

    2) Create a SharePoint External List using the ECT as the base.
