Publish Status Updates from Project Web App RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

The project managers on the project server can add and edit the projects they've published on the server.

but when the project manager wants to publish the status updates, the "Publish" button is disabled to the PM.

can someone guide me through this, and fix this so that the project manager can also publish the status updates.

    thank you

Answers

  • go to PWA - server settings - click on Manage Groups - click on Project Manager group - under the section Categories - click on selected category (permission will expand) - look for the following permissions:

    • Open Project
    • Publish Project
    • Save Project to Project Server

if these 3 are checked, then any user belongs to this group must be able to edit/publish project.

    hope this helps.

  • HI,

If the Project Manger group already have the permission to "save and publish" projects on server, then the next thing you have to make sure that Project is not checked-out to someone else. You can verify this from the status bar appear rite below the PWA ribbon when you open the project from project center,it indicates you the current status of the project.

Let me know if this helps.

  • Hi Khurram,

I've checked the global permissions for the Project Manager group and couldn't find the "save and publish" option there. under which category is it located.

And also, the project is not checked out for anyone.

    thank you

  • mate, you have to check under the selected category permission. click on the category added for the PM group and Under the Project you can find this permission.

let me know if this works.
