Money 99 on Windows 7 Pro 32 bits RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
    I am using Money 99.
My previous computer equipped with Windows XP was robbed. I bought a new one, with 7 Pro 32 bits as I was told it would read all programs running on my old XP 32 bits).
So far so good.... The program works but only if I create a new file!
I cannot open my backup files of Money 99 (whether the backup of my Money file .MNY or a the Money backup file .MBF created while closing the program).
Each time I try, it says that the file contains encrypted graphic information and that this Money version cannot open this file. But it was created by this version!
Is there any possibility to remove the encrypted info? Or bypass it?

I don't want to upgrade Money as I need to regularly send my file to my boss for check and he is using the same version of Money.
But if there is any possibility I could ask him to remove the encryption and send the file back to me.
    Any suggestion? Or idea?
    Thank you.
    La Voileuse.

  • Put your *.mny and *.mbf files in your documents (not your Programs) folder.  Then double click on the .mny file.  Does it work now?
