"An unauthorized change was made to Windows" error on start up

Question
-
I realise this issue is raised in numerous threads, but I wanted to get my diagnostic report looked at before I tried to fix it.
Basically, after logging in I'm getting a black screen and the message 'An unauthorized change was made to Windows. Windows has discovered a change that will result in limited Windows functionality. Use the link below to find out how to fix Windows.' The link takes me to http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/
I recently (within the last week) did a complete restore of my laptop (which took it back about 3 years) and so it has been updating en masse regularly. I've also been installing various drivers I needed to work.. 'TWAIN' driver for my scanner and the driver for my Wacom tablet, which was the last thing installed. I've also a few days ago installed Bitdefender 2012 internet security which leads me to think this might be the problem (http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinevista/thread/a3145e58-eaea-43e5-b2db-c15885076c48) but wanted to check. Also I don't know how to uninstall it as I can't access anything beyond my browser.
Thanks in advance for your help.
