Moving Virtual Memory with Steady State? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello;

    I am building setting up a computer with Steady State. I have some machines still currently using Shared Computer Tool Kit. Won't change them till spring.

    Anyway my question is; In Shared Computer Tool Kit it said you could optimize the protection partition by moving the virtual memory (paging file) from the Windows drive to a persistent drive. Now that Steady State uses the same drive partition as Windows does that rule still apply or is it actually better to leave it where it resides by default.

  • It's better to move the paging file to anopther partition. Before moving you should defragment the partition before moving the paging file in order to improve the performance.
