If the icon remains gray and restarting Live Mesh (or the PC) does not correct the issue, please submit a bug report with logs per the instructions here:

Typically, when the notifier is gray, it means that there is a connection problem. When you open the notifier, are you seeing anything?

I am not sure, honestly. I know that isn't much help, but such is the case with our IT administrator (not much help).Monday, August 10, 2009 3:03 PM

I know what you mean by that. We don't have a single IT admin where I work, but when things change, finding out the details can be like pulling teeth.
If your comfortable doing some digging, you may want to look at Fiddler - http://www.fiddler2.com/Fiddler2/ - to see the traffic and responses you are getting when the notifier is trying to hook up to the Mesh. I've not done that myself, but having used Fiddler to try to determine the cause of isses with the forums on occasion, I know I have to filter out the traffic being sent by the Live Mesh client. You may be able to filter all else out and only look for traffic from Live Mesh and see if it is getting blocked.
In the meantime, unless we can determine another reason for the problem, Matt, the post that suggests submitting the bug report is the "answer" post for this thread since Live Mesh is a beta service/product. We can and will change the answer attribution if we can determine the cause.
