Live Mesh still won't start

Question
-
My Live Mesh install on XP SP2 used to work fine but long ago an update killed it. It now sits there saying "Starting Live Mesh" --- forever. I have uninstalled/reinstalled and have submitted feedback to the email address as indicated in the post here from a few months back. I just haven't heard anything recently and the latest update does not solve the problem.
Can anyone provide more info on this or at least a workaround so I can get back on the mesh?

Hi Tony,
From the sound of it, you're likely hitting an issue with device id's (see this thread, for example, for further information). Unfortunately, while we are working hard to resolve this issue, we do not have any good workarounds at this time.
Just to make sure you're hitting the issue I suspect you're hitting, though, would you mind collecting a new set of Live Mesh logs and emailing them to me at lmprev@microsoft.com?
Thanks,

Ben,
I'm also recieving the same error message "Live Mesh failed to start" and I remeber the DEVICE ID entry in my previous logs.
I sent you some new logs (althought I didn't review them for the same entry) hope they help!......

Ben,
I do not believe I am hitting the error described in that thread. I get no errors or icons at all. My LiveMesh looks good except that it is constantly "Starting". The logs contain nothing about device ids that I can find. The only interesting errors are related to perf counters (unable to create shared memory) and some file errors (likely expected as new files get created when files are not found) in the moe log.
I have emailed the logs and a screen shot of the Live Mesh tray icon/tooltip so you can see what my machine looks like.
