Wireless Desktop 3000 - replacement USB receiver?

    Question

  • Long story short... the USB receiver for my Wireless Desktop 3000 keyboard/mouse combo is damaged. It no longer works.

Does anyone know where I could purchase a replacement? I can't find anywhere online, including Microsoft, that offers this part alone.

    PID: 01395-523-7840682-00941
    P/N: X820594-008

    Thanks!

  • I'm on the same boat. My computer flipped over smashing the USB transciever. Although I can't find the USB Transciever sold alone I found a mouse alone but it looks like the P/N doesn't line up (below):

I'm a bit apprehensive about buying the singular parts because the transceiver has to work with both the keyboard and the mouse. Very close to just getting a cheap replacement. Let me know if something good comes up.

  • According to this source, it looks like the USB is ONLY sold as a "mastered pair", so you can't buy;em seperately. (Source ). Sorry to say this, but it looks like you've got one of 2 options:

    1) Pony up the money and buy an new set

    2) Dig out those receipts and hope for the best.

    - Microsoft's direct product line (source )

Let me know what shakes out.

    Good luck!
