Validate PROBLEM for MS Office Pro 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Ultimately, I am attempting to download Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center with MS Windows Mobile 6.1 for my Motorola Q9m smartphone (running Windows Mobile 6 Standard).  Before I can do that, it seems I have to validate my OS and whether I have a genuine version of Office installed.

I am successful validating my Operating System, which is Microsoft Vista Home Premium.

The next step is to validate Microsoft Office.  In fact, I have Microsoft Office Pro 2010, which I installed via the Microsoft Home Use Program (H.U.P.).  Microsoft even mailed me the Back-up CD-ROM; so, I know it's genuine.

Why won't the validation tool say that my software is genuine?  This is way frustrating.

Here is what I copied from the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool (1.9.0027.0):

Office 2010 is supposed to be self-validating - none of the validation tools have been updated to reflect this fact, unfortunately.
Interestingly, I just went to the download for the WMDC myself - and failed the Windows validation (twice!-0x80080101 error), although validation was successful using the normal route. This  meant that I was unable to get through to the next stage of the download process.
It would appear that there is something wrong with the Download Center's validation process.
