Insert an enhanced metafile into Word 2007 by automation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Using the word automation object model (c#, using the PIA), I can use Document.Shapes.AddPicture to insert a new picture-box into the document. In my case, it is an enhanced metafile. With word 2003, AddPicture really added a metafile, so the user could use "edit graphics" within word to edit the contents of the graphics. With word 2007, the image is always inserted as a raster graphics, even if an enhanced metafile is specified, so the user cannot edit that inserted image. Does anybody know a property or another trick to insert it as a metafile?

By the way: If using AddPicture in Power Point- automation, it is still inserted as a metafile! And: If inserting a metafile manually via "Insert -> Graphics", not by code, it is also inserted as a metafile.
