Error Tracking Email RRS feed

  • This is for crm 4.0 . User is trying to track an email and keeps getting "An error occurred promoted this item to Microsoft Dynamics CRM". The Microsoft Dynamics CRM server could not be contacted or the user has insufficient permissions to perofrm this action."

    The email thread has previously been tracked and emails added to a record and user is able to track other emails successfully.

    My initial thought was that the issue was because the sender's email could not be resolved to a contact in CRM. However in trying to reproduce something similar I had not issues - tracking an email I sent to a bogus email address.

    The email did have attachments but those same attachments are in other emails that were successfully added to a record.

    Not sure what else to look for possibly. Also in my own settings I have the option to send emails thru CRM to unknown emails contacts set to 'no' yet if I send and email thru CRM to that email address it is received. Curious about that.

    Any suggestions on the topic above would be appreciated.
