CRM 2016 for outlook 2013 install fails at MS SQL Server Compact 4.0 Service Pack 1 RRS feed

  • Question

  • So basically i made a script to uninstall CRM 2011 for Outlook and then install CRM 2016 since we upgraded our servers to 2016, but 3 users have issues with error in subject.  I manage to get the other two going, one by deleting left over folders and registry keys, and the other a system restore point then uninstalling crm 2011 and then install crm 2016 for outlook.

The 3rd user, i can't do a system restore (machine issue)  there has to be another way I can get this installed

I did install CRM 2011 back and uninstall then try to be cleaver to install CRM 2016 for Outlook, but same error.

I even tried uninstall Server compact 4.0 but no prevail.

part of the error log below

  • Fixed it finally

What I did was deleted everything in the path under Temporary Internet Files from the error log:

    Deleted C:\Users\johndoe\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\89WNEFVE\SSCERuntime_x64-ENU[1].exe

When to download CRM 2016 for Outlook client from website, extracted a fresh install and then the install finally got me pass the error.
