Suddenly not genuine, build 7601, error x80070002, invalid SLIC table, bought direct from Lenovo 6 months ago

Question
-
Bought this laptop with Windows 7 directly from Lenovo. Yesterday I suddenly got the "This copy of Window is not genuine". I hadn't installed updates in a month, so I opened windows update and installed the latest updates with a vague hope that updating would resolve this issue. It didn't. Looked over this forum and saw that there are many different reasons I could be getting this error, so I would be very appreciative if someone could point me to the correct action I should take. Thanks!

BIOS valid for OA 2.0: no, invalid SLIC table
You will have to change your product key to the one on your COA
click start
right click computer
select properties
scroll to the bottom of the page and select change product key
You will then have to activate by phone:
How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)
1) Click Start, and in the Search box type: slui.exe 4
2) Next press the 'ENTER' key
3) Select your 'Country' from the list.
4) Choose the 'Phone Activation' option.
5) Stay on the phone (do not select/press any options) and wait for a person to help you with activation.
6) Explain your problem clearly to the support person.
Additional information:
Computers, which are built by large manufactures that come with Windows Pre-Installed, come with two (2) Product Keys:
A) OEM SLP: This key comes pre-installed in Windows, when it comes from the Factory. This key is geared to work with the special instructions found only on that Manufacturer's computer hardware. So when Windows was installed using the OEM SLP key (at the factory) Windows 7 looks at the motherboard and sees the special instructions and Self-Activates. (that's why you did not need to Activate your computer after you brought it home)
B) COA SLP: This is the Product key that you see on the sticker on the side (or bottom,[ or inside the battery compartment]) of your computer. It is a valid product key, but should only be used in limited situations (such as if the OEM SLP key stops self-activating for whatever reason). The key must be activated by Phone. (Note: All manufacturers that use the OEM SLP system are required by contract to include a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) sticker, that has a COA SLP key, on the computer)

You have at least one problem – possibly two.1) Your installation of Office is an Enterprise version – which cannot be sold to the public. Unless you got it through your employer it is almost certainly counterfeit.2) For some reason, your OS is unable to properly read the SLIC table in the BIOS. This could be simply a minor corruption in the Licensing Store, or something more major. To fix this, please follow the instructions below.Try recreating the Licensing Store – this may show up the problem.Recreate the Licensing Store
1) Click Start button.
2) Type: CMD.exe into the 'Search programs and files' field
3) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select Run as Administrator
4) Type: net stop sppsvc (It may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
Note: the Software Protection service may not be running, this is ok.
5) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
6) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar
7) Type: cd %windir%\system32
8) Type: net start sppsvc
9) Type: slui.exe
10) After a couple of seconds Windows Activation dialog will appear. You may be asked to re-activate and/or re-enter your product key or Activation may occur automatically.
Reboot and attempt Validation again at www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate and Post back with a new MGADiag report and the validation result.

Thank you for the prompt replies!
Noel, I followed your directions and was unsuccessful at activating my product key (tried both the current OEM one and the COA one listed under my battery). Both were determined invalid. The Office Enterprise is indeed from my employer... my other laptop even has Windows 7 Enterprise.
Are there other steps I could take to fix this, or should I follow george1009's directions?

Follow george1009's directions.

I am not given the option to activate by phone because I only see 3 options: Buy a new key, Try a different key, and Contact Lenovo. When I paste the OEM key currently being used, it can't finish activation and I receive an error code 0xC004F063. The other one gives me an invalid key message.Wednesday, December 21, 2011 5:10 PM
